Obedience Is Better Than Sacrifice

Have you ever stepped out in faith after hearing from the Holy Spirit, only to be judged, misunderstood and scorned? Have you ever done something so outside the box that even close friends and family questioned your motives? Has God asked you to trust Him in that decision when nothing makes sense in the physical? 

We are on the other side of a series of events that would stretch even the most ardent of faithful saints. Obedience to God cannot be questioned by those looking on and unless you have walked a mile in someone else's shoes, you will never have all the information. Even after that mile, you only ever glean a sample of what it is they are going through.

Our obedience literally cost us all we had, but in doing so we got to see God do the amazing and impossible at a time when my family needed it most. I confess, there were moments of doubt and second guessing and on more than one occasion, a meltdown or two under the shear strain of life. You see, God's ways are Holy and secret and not like our ways at all. We think we know how things should happen and how we should be treated, but the Lord's ways are mysterious and not always understood. We do tend to get carried away by our own vain imaginings and then get hurt when God doesn't do things our way….

Today I simply want to give thanks for God's goodness to our family. We moved into a home a few days ago, something that we never thought would be possible after the past years of crisis and trauma. We are utterly amazed at all the things that had to align in order for us to get to do this. It's staggering. You simply can't out give God. When He asks you to give something up, it's always for your best interest. Always. There's more to this story but suffice to say, God has blessed us with a home and filled my heart with expectations and dreams that I thought had died. 

When was the last time you reached for the unreachable? Or believed in the impossible? God is able to do exceedingly and abundantly above all we can ask or imagine!

Ephesians 3:20-21

20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

God is always faithful, even when we are not. He knows what you need even before you ask Him. As the great hymn says, “ All I have needed Thy hand has provided, great is Thy faithfulness, Lord unto me".
